Hello!
My name is Brittni Smith, and I am a teacher in the Walnut Grove School District in Walnut Grove, MO. I teach elementary technology, junior high math, and I co-teach algebra 1. I graduated from Missouri State University in May of 2015 with a degree in Elementary Education (grades 1-6) and an emphasis in eMINTS (Instructional Technology). In the summer of 2015, I earned my certification in Middle School Mathematics (grades 5-9).
I grew up as a Willard Tiger, attending Willard Schools from kindergarten until graduation. At WHS, I was a member of the Cutting Edge Marching Band, FCCLA, FCA, FTA, and more. At MSU, I was a member of SMSTA and on the planning board/committee for the first ever Southwest Regional SMSTA Conference for college students.
I have four younger siblings - three brothers and one sister. Jenna and Caden are still in high school, but Alex and Spencer are working and attending SBU, respectively. My parents still live in Springfield and I have a lot of close family nearby that I love visiting each week or weekend.
My hobbies are reading, photography, learning about new technology, hand lettering scriptures and quotes (I'm teaching myself calligraphy!), and working out. I am also pretty involved with my church, as I attend a small group bible study once a week along with attending 2 church services on Sunday. In addition, I work with middle school girls every other month as a mentor and small group leader.
I love working here at Walnut Grove. The family and community atmosphere has been such a blessing already, and I can't wait to see how this year unfolds.
